description MILGRAM Overview
Es awakens in the facility Milgram to find a strange talking animal named Jackalope staring them down. Soon, they learn their purpose: as the prison guard, Es must delve into the psyches of 10 inmates, each of them imprisoned for causing the loss of life in some form or another. Their fates rest in Es' hands. Do the means justify an end, and how much does intent matter if the result is death?
No matter how the lines between good and evil, right and wrong, and just and cruel are blurred, there are only two options Es can choose between: innocent or guilty.
help MILGRAM FAQ
Is MILGRAM a normal anime series?
MILGRAM is better understood as an interactive music and character project rather than a standard weekly TV anime. It was launched by DECO*27 and Takuya Yamanaka, with story information delivered through songs, music videos, voice dramas, and voting rounds.
How does the voting system in MILGRAM work?
Viewers judge each prisoner as forgiven or not forgiven after watching their songs and related material. The results affect later rounds, which is why the 10 prisoners can be read differently as new videos reveal more context.
Who are Es and Jackalope in MILGRAM?
Es is the amnesiac prison guard who wakes up inside the Milgram facility. Jackalope is the strange guide figure who explains that Es must interrogate and judge the prisoners.
Where should someone start with MILGRAM?
A practical starting point is the official 'Undercover' video, which introduces Es and the 10 prisoners. After that, viewers usually follow each prisoner's first-trial song before moving into later trial material.
