Miss Universe

The Miss Universe Organization is currently owned by JKN Global Group, a Thailand-based media and content company. The company, led by Anne Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip, officially purchased the pageant from the American talent agency WME/IMG in late 2022. This marked the first time in the pageant's history that it was owned by a woman or an entity based outside of the United States.

The Miss Universe pageant is judged through a specific series of three main competitions: the Personal Statement, the Swimwear competition, and the Evening Gown presentation. During the final live broadcast, the top finalists are also subjected to an extensive, on-stage question-and-answer segment designed to test their public speaking skills and advocacy platforms. The judges score the contestants heavily on their poise, confidence, and ability to articulate their thoughts clearly.

Historically, the Miss Universe organization required contestants to be between the ages of 18 and 28. However, in late 2023, the organization officially removed the upper age limit, allowing women of any age over 18 to compete. This massive rule change was implemented to make the pageant more inclusive and to reflect modern standards of female empowerment and beauty.

The winner receives a lucrative prize package that traditionally includes a year-long salary, a luxury apartment in New York City, and a massive wardrobe for public appearances. She also receives a dedicated team of public relations professionals, makeup artists, and a dermatologist to support her during her reign. More importantly, she gains a massive global platform to champion her specific humanitarian or charitable advocacy.
