Mitzi (1958–1972) was a female bottlenose dolphin trained by Milton Santini at his facility in Grassy Key, Florida. She gained fame for starring as the titular character in the 1963 film "Flipper," which helped popularize dolphins in marine entertainment and media. Unlike other dolphins used in the subsequent television series, Mitzi performed the primary role in the original film. She lived out her life at Santini's Porpoise School, which later became the Dolphin Research Center, serving as a major attraction.
