Privacy-focused Mullvad separates VPN access from a conventional account profile. An account number replaces the usual email-and-password identity, and the service states that it does not log user activity. Cash and supported cryptocurrency payments provide alternatives for people who prefer not to attach ordinary payment details to their subscription. Its approach suits users who place particular weight on minimizing the personal information required to open an account.
The VPN encrypts traffic between the device and Mullvad's server, including when the connection starts on public Wi-Fi at a cafe or hotel. Websites see the server's public IP address instead of the connection's original address. This reduces direct exposure of that address, but does not make all activity unidentifiable: signed-in accounts and browser tracking can still reveal information. Mullvad's distinction is its restrained account system and stated logging policy, rather than a guarantee of complete anonymity.
Mullvad offers a free plan, but the paid plans provide more features and better performance.
No, Mullvad does not keep any activity logs or personal information.
While basic usage is straightforward, advanced configurations can be complex for beginners.

Setting my account was pretty easy. Mullvad worked very well for me and that’s why I decided to remain a customer. I was able to connect devices that don’t natively support VPN or have any compatible VPN apps available, like my PS4.
I got this hooked with Wireguard with a little bit of issue but I got it to work in the end. So far so good..
Has a decent speed for something that's free but sometimes it would just slow down for no reason. I wish it's more consistent.. not sure if it's my Wifi connection or the app...
Currently using their free service but also looking into their paid plans.. Looks reasonable with the features included. It's secure and just awesome overall.
I have been with Mullvad for years. What I like most about it is I can customize my proxy settings, and VPN connections by editing files and using openvpn with mullvad file. Easy to use!
My impression of Mullvad is that it's trustworthy and transparent. I wasn't asked with my personal info when using its free version. That's kinda rare with all of the similar services.
