description Multan Fort Overview
Multan Fort was a historic military installation in Multan, Punjab, Pakistan, built on a mound separated from the city by the former course of the Ravi River. Its exact original date is uncertain, and some accounts associate the site with the Katoch dynasty. The fort had high defensive walls, multiple bastions, gates, a ditch, and an associated sacred complex. British forces destroyed much of it during the Siege of Multan in 1848-1849.
