Mycena inclinata

description Mycena inclinata Overview

Mycena inclinata, commonly called the clustered bonnet, is a saprotrophic mushroom that fruits in dense groups on decaying hardwood, especially stumps and fallen trunks. Its small, bell-shaped caps are usually brownish, while the slender stems can show yellow-brown to reddish tones and a distinctly hairy base. Elias Magnus Fries validly described the species in 1838. It is treated as an inedible species and is mainly of interest to people identifying woodland fungi.
