The New York Post is a daily tabloid newspaper published in New York City, founded in 1801 by Alexander Hamilton, which makes it among the oldest continuously published newspapers in the United States. It appeared as a broadsheet for more than a century before adopting tabloid format in 1942 under publisher Dorothy Schiff. Rupert Murdoch bought the paper in 1976, and it now forms part of News Corp.
