Nicholas Blomley

Blomley helped establish legal geography as a field by demonstrating that law is not separate from space but actively produces urban environments through property rules, zoning, and policing practices. Blomley is a professor in the Department of Geography at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada. He has been based there for much of his academic career and has built an extensive body of research on law, property, and urban space.
