Nihi Sumba

Nihi Sumba is a luxury resort situated on the remote island of Sumba in eastern Indonesia, about an hour's flight from Bali. It is famous for its location on a pristine coastal surf beach overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Nihi Sumba is home to 'Occy’s Left,' a famous left-hand surf break located directly in front of the resort. Access to the wave is strictly limited to a maximum of 10 resort guests at a time, though the break is generally better suited for intermediate to advanced surfers.

The resort operates the Sumba Foundation, a charitable organization funded by guest donations that provides clean water, healthcare, and education to local Sumbanese villages. The foundation has built dozens of water wells and medical clinics across the island.

Nihi Sumba features a variety of accommodations, including expansive luxury villas that come with private plunge pools. The design of these villas integrates traditional Sumbanese architecture, such as high-pitched thatched roofs, with high-end modern amenities.
