description Nileoides Overview
Nileoides is an extinct genus of asaphid trilobites from the Ordovician Period. It is recorded from the Lower to Middle Ordovician and is placed in the family Asaphidae, although its relationships within the group have been discussed because its exoskeleton is strongly effaced, with many surface furrows reduced. The type species, Nileoides perkinsi, is known from the Upper Chazy Group of Vermont and other North American localities.
