Niseko is globally famous for its incredibly abundant, consistent light powder snow. The cold Siberian winds crossing the Sea of Japan drop massive amounts of snow, creating perfect conditions for off-piste and backcountry skiing.

The peak ski season runs from late December through February, which offers the deepest powder and the best chance of bluebird days following storms. January is historically the snowiest month, though the season runs well into March.
