Octopus warringa is a small species in the family Octopodidae, described by Stranks in 1990 and commonly called the club pygmy octopus. It lives on or near the seafloor among rocks, seaweed, and kelp holdfasts in southeastern Australia and New Zealand, with records from shallow water to at least 144 meters. The species is distinguished in males by a swollen, club-shaped tip on the third right arm, and adults reach about 13 centimeters in total length.
