Oecobius navus

description Oecobius navus Overview

Oecobius navus is a small cribellate spider in the family Oecobiidae. It has a broad distribution and is commonly associated with buildings, where it constructs a small, flat, circular or star-shaped web with signaling threads in wall corners, on ceilings, or under rocks. The species is usually only a few millimeters long. Rather than relying solely on the web to hold prey, it runs around captured insects and wraps them with sticky silk before biting them.
