The old lady moth, Mormo maura, is a nocturnal moth in the family Erebidae found in Europe and parts of western Asia. Adults have dark brown forewings with pale and darker markings that provide camouflage when the moth rests with its wings closed. The species is associated with damp habitats, including woodland edges, river margins, and other places with dense vegetation.
