Paris Peace Accords

description Paris Peace Accords Overview

The Paris Peace Accords were the agreements signed in 1973 to establish a political framework for ending United States involvement in the Vietnam War. They provided for a ceasefire, the withdrawal of United States and allied forces from South Vietnam, and the return of prisoners of war. Fighting between Vietnamese forces continued after the agreement, and the settlement did not produce a lasting peace.
