Partnership Pinochle

Partnership Pinochle is played using a specialized 48-card deck. This deck omits the cards numbered two through eight, containing only aces, tens, kings, queens, jacks, and nines. It is designed for exactly four players arranged into two competing partnerships.

The game is structured around three distinct phases: bidding, melding, and trick-taking. The goal is to score points by declaring specific card combinations during the melding phase and subsequently capturing tricks. The first partnership to reach a predetermined score, often 150 points, wins the game.

As the name suggests, this classic American card game is designed specifically for four players. Players sit across from each other, forming two fixed partnerships that compete against the opposing pair. Variations exist for three players or double-deck play, but the standard partnership format uses four people.

A marriage in Pinochle is a meld consisting of a King and Queen of the same suit. A marriage in a non-trump suit is worth four points, while a marriage in the trump suit is worth significantly more. These combinations are crucial for accumulating points during the melding phase of the game.
