Perama Cave

description Perama Cave Overview

Perama Cave is a limestone cave in the suburb of Perama, about 4 to 5 kilometers from Ioannina in northwestern Greece. Known locally before the Second World War, it was used as a shelter during the 1940 Italian bombardments and was scientifically mapped after the war. The cave extends for about 1,100 meters and contains multiple chambers decorated with stalactites, stalagmites, and other mineral formations.
