Physcia stellaris is a foliose lichen in the family Physciaceae that forms pale gray, often orbicular thalli with loosely appressed lobes. It is distinguished from many related Physcia species by the absence of soredia and isidia, while dark, plate-like apothecia are commonly present. It grows chiefly on the bark of deciduous trees, but also occurs on rock across temperate parts of North America and Europe.
