Piero Taruffi was an Italian racing driver, engineer, and author who competed in Grand Prix and sports-car racing during the mid-twentieth century. He entered Formula One World Championship events for teams including Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, and Maserati, and won the 1952 Swiss Grand Prix for Ferrari. Taruffi also won the final running of the Mille Miglia in 1957, after which he retired from competitive driving.
