Pingora Peak (Wind Rivers)

The South Face route is the most popular and classic line on Pingora Peak, offering high-quality 5.8 granite crack climbing. It is widely considered one of the best multi-pitch alpine climbs in the entire Wind River Range.

Pingora Peak is a striking granite spire located within the Cirque of the Towers in Wyoming's Wind River Range. It is heavily featured on climbers' bucket lists due to its pristine alpine rock quality.

Climbing Pingora Peak typically requires a long weekend trip, including a roughly 10-mile hike into the Cirque of the Towers just to establish a base camp. The technical climb itself usually takes a full day depending on the chosen route and party speed.

While no specific climbing permit is required for Pingora Peak itself, you do need to register for a wilderness permit to enter the Bridger Wilderness in the Wind River Range. There is also a nominal fee to cross the private land on the Dickinson Park trailhead approach.
