Powdery Brittlegill

description Powdery Brittlegill Overview

Powdery Brittlegill is the common name for Russula parazurea, a gilled fungus in the Russulaceae family. It is associated mainly with broadleaf and mixed woodland and commonly has a blue-grey to slate-coloured cap whose surface may appear dusty or powdery. As with other Russula species, reliable identification depends on a combination of cap, gill, stem, spore, and taste characteristics rather than colour alone.
