Puppchen is a three-act German musical farce with songs and dances, composed by Jean Gilbert, the professional name of Max Winterfeld. It premiered at Berlin’s Thalia-Theater in December 1912, with a book by Jean Kren and Curt Kraatz and lyrics by Alfred Schönfeld. The work is particularly associated with the song “Puppchen, du bist mein Augenstern,” which circulated independently as a popular piece of German-language entertainment music.
