description Qidi Tech X-Plus Overview

help Qidi Tech X-Plus FAQ

Does the original Qidi Tech X-Plus print with two materials at once?

No, the original X-Plus is a single-nozzle printer, even though it shipped with two interchangeable extruder assemblies for different material ranges. It should not be confused with a dual-extrusion IDEX machine.

What is the build volume of the original Qidi X-Plus?

The original enclosed X-Plus has a build area of roughly 270 by 200 by 200 mm. The much newer X-Plus 3 is a different CoreXY printer with a larger 280 by 280 by 270 mm volume.

Can the Qidi X-Plus print nylon or carbon-fiber filament?

Qidi supplied a high-temperature extruder assembly for materials such as nylon, polycarbonate, and some carbon-fiber composites. Abrasive composite filament also calls for an appropriate wear-resistant nozzle, not merely higher temperature.

Can I slice X-Plus models in Cura instead of Qidi Print?

Yes, Cura can generate files for the original X-Plus when a custom printer profile is configured. Qidi Print is the easier starting point because it includes profiles tailored to the machine and its 270 mm-wide bed.
