Radius Engineering International - E-10

The E-10 is an underground bomb shelter designed and manufactured by Radius Engineering International. Developed by Walton McCarthy, it is an engineered, cylindrical fiberglass structure designed to protect up to 10 people during nuclear, biological, or chemical (NBC) attacks. It functions as a fully self-contained, off-grid survival bunker.

For maximum protection against radiation blast and fallout, the E-10 shelter is engineered to be buried completely underground, typically requiring excavation depths of 10 to 15 feet depending on the local water table. The structure relies on the surrounding earth to provide shielding from radiation. Proper installation requires heavy machinery and adherence to strict engineering guidelines.

The E-10 is designed for extended off-grid living and includes air filtration systems, water storage tanks, and battery banks. It features bunk beds, a basic kitchen area, and a composting toilet. The interior is designed to sustain 10 individuals for several weeks until it is safe to surface.

The bunker was designed by Walton McCarthy, an engineer and author of the "Principles of Protection" handbook. McCarthy founded Radius Engineering International to develop practical, commercially available underground shelters. His designs are heavily utilized by survivalists and government agencies worldwide.
