Richard Price is an American anthropologist and historian whose work focuses on Afro-American history, Caribbean societies and Maroon communities. With Sally Price, he conducted extended collaborative research among the Saramaka Maroons of Suriname and wrote ethnographies and historical studies drawing on oral history, archival material and community knowledge. His publications address Maroon art, memory, resistance to slavery and the relationship between anthropology and history.
