RM Lympstone (CTCRM)

RM Lympstone is home to the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM), which is the primary training establishment for the Royal Marines. It is where all recruits and officers undergo their initial training to earn the coveted green beret.

The training center, commonly known as CTCRM, is located in the village of Lympstone in Devon, England. Its coastal location provides an ideal environment for rigorous military exercises.

The training program for Royal Marines at CTCRM is famously demanding and takes roughly 32 weeks for standard recruits. This extensive period is required to prepare them physically and mentally for the Commando course.

As an active military training establishment, general public access to CTCRM is heavily restricted for security reasons. However, family members and guests are often permitted to attend specific graduation ceremonies when recruits earn their green berets.
