Rodney Brooks is an Australian-American roboticist, emeritus professor at MIT, and former director of the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). He co-founded iRobot, maker of the Roomba, and later Rethink Robotics, which produced collaborative industrial robots. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
