Rosa

description Rosa Overview

Rosa, also called Rosae or the Rose, was a historical constellation proposed by Petrus Apianus. It first appeared on a celestial planisphere in 1536 and was later shown in Apianus's Astronomicum Caesareum, published in 1540. Rosa was one of several Renaissance constellation inventions that were not retained in modern astronomical standardization, so it is not among the 88 constellations recognized by the International Astronomical Union.
