description Saemangeum Overview

Saemangeum is a coastal estuarine area on South Korea's Yellow Sea coast, near Gunsan and Buan. The project became an environmental controversy because enclosing the estuary altered tidal exchange, water quality, and habitat used by migratory shorebirds.
