description Saratogia Overview

Saratogia is a genus of Late Cambrian saukiid trilobites known from North America. Early specimens were described from New York State, and the genus has been used in correlation of Upper Cambrian marine strata. As a saukiid, Saratogia had the segmented exoskeleton and mineralized body covering typical of trilobites, which lived on the seafloor or within other marine habitats during the Paleozoic Era.
