Sargassum vulgare is a brown alga in the family Sargassaceae, occurring in tropical and subtropical parts of the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. It grows on rocky shores from the intertidal zone into shallow subtidal habitats. Its aggregations create three-dimensional habitat that can shelter and support a variety of small marine animals.
