Scott Weiland (1967–2015) was an American singer best known as the frontman of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver. With Stone Temple Pilots, he recorded multi-platinum albums including 'Core' (1992) and 'Purple' (1994), featuring singles such as 'Plush,' 'Creep,' and 'Interstate Love Song.' In 2003 he joined former Guns N' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum in the supergroup Velvet Revolver, whose debut album 'Contraband' reached number one on the Billboard 200. Weiland died on December 3, 2015.
