description Searle Wright Overview

M. Searle Wright was an American organist, composer, teacher, and church musician. He served as organist of St. Paul's Chapel at Columbia University from 1952 to 1971 and later became a professor of music at the State University of New York at Binghamton.

Wright also held offices in the American Guild of Organists, including its presidency in 1970 and 1971, and was associated with concert and church-organ performance.
