help Sky Girls FAQ
When did Sky Girls come out and which studio animated it?
Sky Girls began with a 2006 OVA and became a full TV anime in 2007 animated by J.C.Staff. The TV series is the main watch, with the OVA functioning as an earlier proof-of-concept version.
Do I need to watch the Sky Girls OVA before the TV series?
No, the 2007 TV series retells and expands the same setup, so the 2006 OVA is optional. Watching it first mainly shows how the concept evolved between the pilot and the full production.
What exactly are the Sonic Divers in Sky Girls?
They're transforming exosuit craft that shift between flight mode and a mecha-style combat configuration, piloted by young women like Otoha, Karen, and Eika. The premise hinges on the war against the Worms having decimated young men, leaving girls as the viable pilots.
How long is Sky Girls and is it complete in one season?
The TV series runs 26 episodes and tells a complete story, with no continuation season following it. It remains a single-season series, so you can finish the whole thing without a cliffhanger.
