description Sparsely-spotted Stingaree Overview

The sparsely-spotted stingaree (Urolophus paucimaculatus) is a benthic stingray in the family Urolophidae found along the southern coast of Australia, including Tasmania. It inhabits sandy or seagrass bottoms from shallow bays to at least 150 m and has a broad, rounded diamond-shaped disc, a bell-shaped nasal curtain, lateral tail folds, a leaf-shaped caudal fin, and no dorsal fin.
