Spelunky HD

Spelunky HD was developed by Derek Yu, with the enhanced remake's ports being handled by Mossmouth. The original freeware version was created in GameMaker, and the HD version was released on PC and Xbox Live Arcade in 2012.

The game features procedurally generated underground caves and enforces permanent death, meaning if the player dies, they lose all items and start over from the very first level. It also features complex, deeply simulated physics and interactions that ensure no two runs are identical.

Players unlock shortcuts by finding the NPC named Tunnel Man in the cave systems and paying him specific items or money. He requires a certain amount of gold, bombs, and ropes across three separate encounters to build a shortcut to the next world.

Hell is a hidden, extremely difficult world in Spelunky HD that serves as an alternate ending to the game. To access it, players must defeat the boss of world 4, Kingu, and recover a specific hidden item called the Tablet of Destiny.
