description Starship IFT-1 Overview

Starship IFT-1 was SpaceX's first integrated flight test of the Starship spacecraft and Super Heavy booster. It launched from Boca Chica, Texas, on April 20, 2023, but the vehicle lost control during ascent and was destroyed by its flight termination system several minutes after liftoff. The test was intended to gather flight data for the development of SpaceX's fully reusable launch system.
