description Strange Magic Overview
Strange Magic is a 2015 animated jukebox musical fantasy film produced by Lucasfilm and directed by Gary Rydstrom. Its story is a fairy tale inspired by William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, set around a conflict involving fairy princess Marianne, the Bog King, and a mysterious potion. The soundtrack uses previously recorded popular songs, so the film combines animated fantasy and romance with a song-driven structure rather than a wholly original musical score. It is intended for family audiences.
