This water filter is designed to efficiently remove common backcountry threats like bacteria, protozoa, and harmful sediment. It typically relies on a hollow fiber membrane filter, similar to those used by brands like Katadyn or MSR, to purify water from natural streams and lakes.

The Pro version features a larger filter chamber that significantly increases the flow rate compared to standard base models. This allows backpackers and outdoor enthusiasts to filter several liters of water much faster, saving valuable time at camp.

Most modern gravity filters require regular backflushing using a clean syringe or by reversing the hose to push clean water backward through the filter element. This process clears out trapped sediment and debris, helping to restore the original flow rate for your next trip.

While reservoir capacities can vary, most standard Pro gravity systems for group camping hold between 2 to 4 liters of dirty water. This capacity is ideal for supplying a small group of backpackers with enough clean drinking water for an evening meal and morning hydration.
