Striped Guitarfish

The Striped Guitarfish is a type of ray distinguished by prominent longitudinal stripes patterning its dorsal surface. It has a flattened body that perfectly blends the physical features of a shark and a skate.

This species is typically found in coastal marine waters, often resting on the sandy or muddy bottoms of the ocean floor. They frequent shallower coastal regions where they can easily camouflage.

Striped Guitarfish are bottom-dwelling predators that primarily feed on small crustaceans, mollusks, and small fish. They use their flattened teeth to crush the hard shells of crabs and clams found in the sediment.
