The Sukhoi Su-9 (NATO reporting name: Fishpot) was a Soviet single-engine, delta-wing interceptor aircraft developed in the late 1950s. Entering service in 1959, it was designed to intercept high-altitude targets and was armed exclusively with air-to-air missiles rather than internal cannons. As one of the first Soviet aircraft capable of carrying out all-weather interception missions, it served primarily with the Soviet Air Defence Forces.
