help Taipei FAQ
Was Taipei really a 1981 Activision game?
No. The familiar Windows game Taipei was written by David Norris and released with Microsoft's first Windows Entertainment Pack in 1990. Activision published the related mahjong-solitaire game Shanghai in 1986.
How do you remove tiles in Microsoft Taipei?
The player removes matching pairs of free tiles from a layered arrangement. A tile is normally free only when no tile covers it and at least one of its left or right sides is open.
Do seasons and flowers have to match exactly in Taipei?
No. Any season tile can pair with another season, and any flower can pair with another flower. Ordinary suits, winds, and dragons must match their identical symbols.
