Talmine Bay

Talmine Bay is a coastal inlet on the north coast of Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands, overlooking the Kyle of Tongue. It sits in a remote part of northern Scotland, with the nearest village being Talmine itself and the larger settlement of Tongue located a short distance to the east.

Talmine Bay features a sandy beach interspersed with rocky outcrops and is sheltered from the open sea by the surrounding coastline. The bay offers views across the Kyle of Tongue, and the area is known for coastal walking, birdwatching, and a sense of isolation typical of the far north of Scotland.

From Talmine Bay you can look out across the Kyle of Tongue toward the Rabbit Islands, a small uninhabited group offshore. On clear days, the wider views across the strait toward the northern coastline of Sutherland add to the area's appeal for visitors.

Talmine Bay is reached via local single-track roads branching off the A838, which runs along the north Sutherland coast. The area is roughly a 2.5-hour drive north of Inverness, passing through some of the most sparsely populated landscape in mainland Britain.
