Tenergy 05

Tenergy 05 is manufactured by Butterfly, a renowned Japanese table tennis equipment brand. It is widely considered one of the most popular and successful rubbers in the sport's history. Many professional players on the global ITTF circuit rely on it for high-level tournament play.

It features Butterfly's innovative Spring Sponge technology, which provides a unique feeling of the ball sinking into the rubber. Combined with its High Tension pips structure, it generates massive amounts of spin, particularly on heavy loops. It was one of the first rubbers to truly dominate the post-speed-glue era of table tennis.

The three rubbers use the same Spring Sponge but feature different pips geometries to suit different play styles. Tenergy 05 has pips facing outward, maximizing spin for aggressive loopers. Tenergy 64 has wider pips for flatter speed, and Tenergy 80 is a hybrid designed to balance both spin and drive.

Tenergy 05 is generally not recommended for beginners because it is very fast and requires excellent technique to control. Its high price point also makes it an expensive choice for those still learning the basics. It performs best when paired with high-level footwork and advanced brushing techniques.
