Does Tera Term support SSH as well as Telnet?

Yes. Its TCP/IP support includes Telnet and SSH1 and SSH2 connections, in addition to serial communication. The SSH capability is provided through the TTSSH extension maintained with the Tera Term project.

Can Tera Term automate repeated terminal tasks?

Tera Term includes a macro interpreter for scripts written in Tera Term Language, commonly called TTL. A script can automate login steps, send commands, wait for responses, and log serial or network sessions.

Is Tera Term free and open source?

Yes. Tera Term is distributed as free open-source software under the BSD 3-Clause license and runs on Microsoft Windows. Its terminal emulation includes VT100 and selected VT200 and VT300 behavior.
