The Crowd Roars

The Crowd Roars is a 1932 American pre-Code drama film directed by Howard Hawks and starring James Cagney as race driver Joe Greer. The story concerns Greer's efforts to manage his career and protect his younger brother, who wants to enter automobile racing. The film uses real racing drivers in its action sequences, including Indianapolis 500 winner Billy Arnold, and was later remade as Indianapolis Speedway.
