The Devil Wears Prada - Dead Throne

The 2011 album was produced by Adam Dutkiewicz, the guitarist and producer for the metalcore band Killswitch Engage. His production helped the band achieve a much heavier, more polished, and aggressively technical sound compared to their earlier work.

'Dead Throne' was released on September 13, 2011, via Ferret Music. This marked a major label shift for the band after releasing their earlier albums, like 'With Roots Above and Branches Below,' through Rise Records.

While not a traditional narrative concept album, the record is heavily thematic, primarily focusing on the concept of idolatry and the rejection of modern worship. Vocalist Mike Hranica wrote the lyrics to actively combat the idea of idolizing human figures, including the band themselves.

The album features guest vocal appearances from several prominent metal musicians, including Tommy Giles Rogers of Between the Buried and Me. It also includes programming and synth elements handled by Jonathan Gering to enhance its atmospheric symphonic sections.
