The Drag Net is a 1928 American silent crime drama directed by Josef von Sternberg and produced by Paramount Famous Lasky. George Bancroft plays the police detective Two-Gun Nolan, with Evelyn Brent as The Magpie and William Powell as Dapper Frank Trent. The story follows Nolan's pursuit of a gang leader after a violent confrontation with hijackers; the AFI Catalog records an eight-reel, 70-minute film and notes The Dragnet as the copyright title.
