The Gaucho

description The Gaucho Overview

The Gaucho is a 1927 American silent adventure film directed by F. Richard Jones and starring Douglas Fairbanks. Fairbanks plays a charismatic but ruthless Argentine gaucho who finds redemption while leading a mountain community against a cursed outbreak of disease. The film co-stars Lupe Velez and features a darker, more mature tone compared to Fairbanks' earlier lighthearted swashbucklers.

It also features a brief introductory prologue starring Mary Pickford playing the Virgin Mary.
