The High Graders

description The High Graders Overview

The High Graders is a Western novel by Louis L'Amour, published in 1965. Its protagonist, Mike Shevlin, returns to the community of Rafter Crossing after learning that Eli Patterson, a Quaker who had been like a father to him, reportedly died in a gunfight. Shevlin finds that the former ranching settlement has become a mining town and investigates Patterson's death amid greed, fear, a conspiracy, and the theft of valuable ore.
